MLSD Minister Meets the Tow Associations and Affirms the Government's Support for NGOs

His Excellency the Minister of Labour and Social Development, Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, today (Thursday) received the President of the Bahrain Public Relations Association, Dr. Fahad Ibrahim Al‑Shehabi, and the Chairman of the Bahrain Jurists Society, Dr. Abdul Jabbar Al‑Tayeb, to congratulate the two associations on obtaining special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). During the meeting, Humaidan said that granting this status reflects the international community’s confidence in Bahrain’s NGOs, which have advanced markedly thanks to the support of the esteemed Government, which provides them with every facility to fulfil their community role. He commended the two societies for their ongoing activities in public relations, human rights, and legal affairs, as well as for the professional reputation they enjoy locally and across the Gulf—qualities that qualified them for consultative status. For their part, Al‑Shehabi and Al‑Tayeb thanked the Ministry of Labour and Social Development for supporting NGOs, professional bodies and volunteers, noting that this backing has strengthened their work in various fields and enabled them to represent Bahrain with distinction in Arab and international fora.
