11-07-2021

His Excellency the Minister of Labour and Social Development, Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, received His Excellency Abdullah Khalifa Al‑Thawadi, Member of the Council of Representatives, at his office at the Ministry. The two sides reviewed the complementary relationship between the executive and legislative branches—particularly the integration of citizens into the labour market—and discussed the Ministry’s social welfare and protection services. Humaidan briefed the MP on ongoing efforts to accelerate the employment of citizens in the private sector and on incentive initiatives for employers and new employees aimed at attracting more national cadres, qualifying them to work across productive sectors, and raising the standard of social welfare services available to all segments of society. For his part, Al‑Thawadi affirmed the Council’s support for the Ministry’s various programmes to speed up the employment of Bahraini human resources and to introduce initiatives that place young people in specialised jobs and professions within private‑sector establishments—supported by wage subsidies and targeted training. He also praised the Ministry’s work to enhance social welfare provision and to streamline access to those benefits.
