MLSD Minister Praises the Efforts of the Philippine Ambassador to Enhance Cooperation in Labor Fields

His Excellency the Minister of Labour and Social Development, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, met with His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mr. Alfonso Ferdinand A. Ver, at the Ministry, marking the end of his diplomatic tenure in the country. During the meeting, Humaidan praised the Ambassador’s efforts to strengthen relations between the two friendly nations and advance them to broader horizons across various fields, particularly the technical and labour sectors. He wished the Ambassador success in his future endeavours. Humaidan also highlighted the contributions of the Filipino workforce and community to Bahrain’s comprehensive development, affirming the Kingdom’s desire to deepen and expand existing cooperation for the mutual benefit of both countries. For his part, the Ambassador expressed gratitude to the Government and people of Bahrain for the support provided throughout his posting, including facilitation of his duties involving the Ministry and the Authority. He commended the protection and care enjoyed by the Filipino community under Bahrain’s advanced labour laws and legislation. The Ambassador further lauded the Kingdom’s achievement in maintaining Tier 1 status for the fourth consecutive year in the United States Department of State’s Trafficking in Persons Report, a distinction that enhances Bahrain’s international standing in protecting human rights.
