His Excellency the Minister of Labour and Social Development, Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, met in his office with the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Al-Hekma Retired Society, Dr. Saeed Abbas Al-Sammak, in the presence of a number of members of the Society’s Board of Directors. The meeting discussed initiatives and programmes to enhance retirees' status in the Kingdom of Bahrain. During the meeting, Dr. Al-Sammak reviewed the Society’s most prominent programmes and activities in the field of retirees’ welfare, along with areas of cooperation with governmental, private, and civil institutions relevant to the Society’s objectives. This comes within the framework of implementing initiatives and services targeting the retiree segment, the latest of which is the project to launch an electronic platform providing social, educational, and health services to all members of the Society. He noted, in this context, the Society’s commitment to investing in the experience and skills acquired by retirees during their years of national service, and he praised the efforts of the Ministry of Labour and Social Development and its continued commitment to strengthening development services in the fields of Labour and social protection. Humaidan expressed his appreciation for the Society’s efforts to support retirees’ affairs and his pride in their dedication to serving the community. He highlighted the social initiatives launched by the Society for its members and its efforts to utilise their unique life experiences and encourage them to continue contributing to national service and development. He stressed the importance of community partnership in achieving more qualitative accomplishments, and, in this context, he noted the positive role played by civil society institutions in supporting government efforts to enhance sustainable development programmes in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
