Ministry of Labor and Social Development Launches Its New Website
21-08-2021

His Excellency the Minister of Labour and Social Development, Mr Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, launched the new and improved version of the Ministry’s website, implemented under the supervision of the Information and eGovernment Authority, in line with the directives of the Supreme Committee for Information Technology and Communication (SCICT), chaired by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, regarding the importance of continuing efforts to improve the Kingdom of Bahrain’s ranking in the United Nations eGovernment Readiness Index by delivering services to the public with the highest levels of quality, efficiency, and security. Humaidan emphasised that the launch of the new website at www.mlsd.gov.bh aligns with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s efforts to advance eGovernment, in line with global advancements in digital government and public administration. He noted that the importance of the new website lies in its role as an interface for direct communication with citizens and stakeholders through an integrated system of information and eServices, delivered with high quality and across multiple channels, designed to enhance participation and responsiveness to enquiries while providing a better level of service to all stakeholders. He added that services under development will also serve persons with disabilities (People of Determination), supported by a flexible visual identity and advanced search, enabling safe, seamless access to Ministry services, alongside faster browsing to reach and complete the required service with ease. The new version of the Ministry’s website includes eServices covering all Ministry sectors in labour, welfare, and social development; employment and training services for citizens in the private sector; unemployment insurance; labour consultations; social assistance; support for NGOs; welfare services; day clubs; senior citizens; and persons with disabilities; as well as family and childhood protection and development services, in addition to other development and labour services. The website also enables users to access the latest Ministry news through an integrated media centre; learn about key initiatives and projects; and review major achievements and awards. Development of the eServices available through the site will continue in line with emerging observations and needs. The Ministry of Labour and Social Development has renewed its invitation for citizens to access its eServices through the new website at www.mlsd.gov.bh or by calling the hotline 80008001, eliminating the need to visit the Ministry’s main building or comprehensive service centres across the Kingdom. These online services do not cancel the option of requesting service in person at the Ministry or its affiliated centres for those who prefer to do so.
