MLSD Minister Reviews with the President of Ahlia University the Development of Education & Training System

His Excellency the Minister of Labour and Social Development, Mr Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, met in his office with the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ahlia University, Dr Abdullah Yusuf Al Hawaj. During the meeting, the parties reviewed the development of the education and training system and its alignment with labour‑market needs amid a qualitative shift in job and occupational patterns. They also addressed the requirements for keeping pace with rapid scientific, technical, and technological developments, in order to facilitate the integration of citizens into private‑sector establishments and the wider labour market. In this context, His Excellency affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain’s economic and commercial diversity presents a favourable opportunity for educational institutions to diversify curricula and launch initiatives that enhance educational outcomes to serve labour‑market requirements. For his part, Dr Al Hawaj commended the efforts of the relevant authorities to advance training and education, noting that modern trends prioritise equipping students with the professional skills demanded by the labour market alongside academic specialisation. He highlighted the Ministry of Labour and Social Development’s role in providing vocational guidance and counselling, which offers students a clear view of specialisations required by the labour market.
