His Excellency the Minister of Labour and Social Development, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, met in his office at the ministry with the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Jurists Society (BJS), Dr. Abduljabbar Ahmed Al-Tayeb, in the presence of several members of the society’s board of directors. During the meeting, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the ministry and the society in various areas of common interest were discussed, particularly with regard to spreading legal and human rights awareness in the field of labour and social protection. In this context, Humaidan commended the efforts of the Bahrain Jurists Society (BJS) in spreading awareness of human rights values and principles at the local and international levels, and in providing legal and human rights services and consultations. He also praised its active participation in highlighting the achievements of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of preserving human rights during the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the great King of the country, may God protect and preserve him. For their part, the chairman and board members of the Bahrain Jurists Society (BJS) expressed their appreciation to the Ministry of Labour and Social Development and the Labour Market Regulatory Authority for their efforts to protect and safeguard employees’ rights, and their role in promoting national legislation and advanced labour laws that comply with international labour standards — including those related to combating human trafficking — as well as other laws, initiatives, and regulations that promote human rights, particularly the rights of employees, and provide them with social protection.
