Supporting disabled to fully integrate into society and participate in building the nation

His Excellency Jameel bin Mohammad Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour and Social Development, affirmed that the Ministry is keen to support persons with disabilities, to continue their contributions to achieve full integration into society and positive participation in nation‑building. It also focuses on employing them in jobs that suit the nature of their disabilities. In this regard, 126 persons with disabilities were integrated into various professions in private‑sector establishments in 2019. This came during Humaidan’s reception of Mr Mohammed Al Mousawi, a young man from among Persons with Disabilities (People of Determination) and a volunteer activist. He discussed his most notable achievements and contributions on social media, as well as his efforts to spread positivity in society. He emphasised that his disability does not prevent him from leading a normal life, as he insisted on learning to drive and enrolled in university to complete his academic studies in the field of media. Minister Humaidan praised Al Mousawi’s determination and ambition, describing him as a model for a struggling Bahraini youth. He expressed his pride in his achievements and perseverance, especially since his disability did not hinder his progress in his academic and social life. He stressed that the Ministry of Labour and Social Development works continuously to support and care for Persons with Disabilities (People of Determination), and to provide all necessary rehabilitation, training, and educational facilities and services for various categories of disabilities, enabling them to integrate into society.
