His Excellency the Minister of Labour and Social Development and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, met with MP Ahmed Sabah Al Salloom at his office in the Ministry. During the meeting, both parties reviewed aspects of the complementary relationship between the executive and legislative authorities, particularly with regard to the implementation of initiatives that support human development in the Kingdom of Bahrain — most notably the rehabilitation and integration of citizens into the labour market. The latest developments in the second edition of the National Employment Programme were also discussed, in addition to the Ministry’s various services in the field of social welfare enhancement. In this context, Humaidan reaffirmed the Ministry’s continued and tireless efforts to boost employment in the private sector, noting that incentive packages for both employers and employees have contributed to enabling establishments to attract qualified national cadres across various productive sectors. He also commended the constructive cooperation between the Ministry and the House of Representatives in the fields of labour and social development. For his part, Mr. Al Salloom affirmed the House of Representatives’ support for the Ministry’s various projects, emphasising the importance of joint cooperation with all relevant stakeholders to accelerate the employment of jobseekers in private companies and institutions. He also praised the incentives offered to business owners to attract Bahraini talent and provide them with professional qualifications, based on the principle of shared national responsibility, and commended the loyalty, commitment, and excellence demonstrated by Bahrainis in their work.
