As part of the Ministry of Labour and Social Development’s keenness to support the efforts of the National Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Ministry, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, organised a visit to the Muharraq Social Welfare Centre, during which all elderly citizens affiliated with the Centre and the National Bank of Bahrain Home for the Elderly were vaccinated against the Coronavirus. The Director of the Social Care Department at the Ministry, Ms. Huda Mohammed Al-Hamoud, expressed her appreciation to the National Medical Taskforce and the front-line workers at the Ministry of Health, commending the efforts of the Ministry’s mobile units in vaccinating the elderly as part of the national vaccination campaign to combat the virus. She highlighted the ease with which the service was provided, which reflects the principle of social responsibility and the esteemed Government’s commitment to prioritising the health protection of elderly citizens and ensuring their immunity. She also emphasised the importance of collective efforts to safeguard public health and reinforce societal solidarity in confronting the pandemic. During the vaccination process, the medical team monitored the health conditions of the elderly citizens after receiving the vaccine, affirming that the initiative demonstrates ongoing care for this group affiliated with the Muharraq Social Welfare Centre and the National Bank of Bahrain Home for the Elderly, and ensures the continued provision of the necessary care, protection, and preventive healthcare services.
