MLSD Minister Encourages the role of the Bahrain Medical Society in promoting everyone's health

His Excellency Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour and Social Development, received Dr. Ghada Mohammed Al Qassim, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Medical Society (BMS), together with several members of the Society’s board. They reviewed the Society’s contribution to the Kingdom of Bahrain’s national efforts to contain the Coronavirus (COVID‑19) through effective community partnership with the relevant state bodies. Humaidan praised these outstanding efforts, noting their tangible impact on safeguarding public health, and commended the launch of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister, may God protect him, Award for the Bahraini Doctor, which reflects the leadership’s appreciation of medical professionals who have once again demonstrated competence and dedication during this exceptional period. Humaidan reiterated the Ministry of Labour and Social Development’s commitment to supporting civil‑society organisations so that they can continue their developmental role and contribute to national construction and progress within the framework of the applicable laws and regulations. Dr. Al‑Sabbagh, speaking on behalf of the Society, thanked the Ministry for its ongoing assistance. She affirmed that the Bahrain Medical Society spares no effort in training medical personnel and enhancing their professional skills across all specialities, thereby improving the quality of healthcare for everyone. She added that the Society will keep working to advance the status of doctors in both public and private health facilities so that they operate as a single, cohesive professional body in service of the nation.
