MLSD Minister discusses with Al-Hajari the development of work and social welfare programs in GCC

His Excellency Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour and Social Development, met in his office with Dr. Amer bin Mohammed Al‑Hajri, Director‑General of the Executive Office of the Council of Ministers of Labour and the Council of Ministers of Social Affairs of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states. They reviewed the Executive Office’s role in fostering cooperation among member states to develop labour markets, intensify efforts to unify policies and regulations, and advance social‑protection programmes and projects for GCC citizens, alongside coordinating joint participation in Arab and international fora. Humaidan reaffirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s support for the Executive Office’s pivotal role in promoting joint Gulf action, noting that such collaboration will help to broaden labour and social‑welfare cooperation and to deepen coordination and integration across the GCC. Al‑Hajri expressed appreciation for Bahrain’s unwavering backing of the Executive Office, stressing the need for concerted efforts to prepare and qualify Gulf youth for the labour market and to craft plans and programmes that develop human resources while advancing development and social‑protection initiatives.
