MLSD Minister reviews with MP Al-Abbasi the development of the labor legislation and social welfare system

His Excellency Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour and Social Development, met with His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Issa Al Abbasi, Member of the Council of Representatives, at the Ministry. They discussed ways to enhance co‑operation between the executive and legislative authorities, particularly in developing labour laws and legislation and upgrading the social‑protection system for citizens. Humaidan reviewed the Ministry of Labour and Social Development’s efforts to maintain the stability of national employment in private‑sector establishments and to accelerate the employment of new jobseekers entering the labour market. He also highlighted initiatives to improve the work environment and the welfare services provided to various segments of society. The Minister praised the fruitful co‑operation of members of the Council of Representatives with the Ministry’s projects and programmes. For his part, Mr. Al Abbasi commended the Ministry’s efforts to ensure a decent standard of living for citizens by providing first‑rate services and safeguarding their employment stability in the private sector. He also noted the Ministry’s development of its electronic services, which facilitate citizens’ access to employment and social‑care services targeting all segments and categories of Bahraini society.
