MLSD Minister reviews with Al-Kawthar Society for Social Care the development of initiatives to support orphans and their families

His Excellency Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour and Social Development, met with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Kawther Society for Social Care, Mr. Hussein Al Ali, in the presence of several board members, at the Ministry building, on the occasion of the formation of the new Board of Directors. The Society’s Board of Directors briefed Humaidan on its most prominent activities, including contributing to providing care for orphans and their families, and developing their academic and behavioural abilities and talents so they become active and productive members of Society. Within this framework, the Society provides academic sponsorship for orphans throughout their educational stages, from kindergarten to university, and provides healthcare supplies for patients from this segment. It also organises charitable forums and events that contribute to strengthening public interest in orphans in the Kingdom of Bahrain. During the meeting, national efforts to enhance cooperation between relevant civil‑society organisations and ways to develop social‑protection services and areas in the Kingdom of Bahrain were reviewed. In this context, Humaidan affirmed the Ministry's keenness to support efforts to achieve the goals of civil‑society organisations and their contribution to consolidating the values of charitable and volunteer work. He praised the humanitarian role undertaken by the Society in adopting positive activities and initiatives that support sustainable development, primarily targeting orphans and their families. For his part, the Chairman of the Al Kawther Society for Social Care commended the Ministry of Labour and Social Development's efforts to advance all development and charitable sectors, commending the Ministry's numerous initiatives in the labour and development fields.
