MLSD Minister notes the role of NGOs in consolidating the values ​​of charitable and humanitarian work

His Excellency Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour and Social Development, met in his office with His Excellency Dr. Hesham Al Asheeri, Member of the Council of Representatives, in the presence of Shaikh Jamal Ahmed Mohammed Al Kharfoush, Chairman of the Board of the Samaheej Islamic Centre Society, and several members of the Society’s Board of Directors. During the meeting, the Association’s most prominent development and charitable projects were reviewed, along with its efforts to advance the principles of charitable and humanitarian work. In this context, Al Kharfoush highlighted the importance of co‑operation and joint coordination with the relevant authorities—most notably the Ministry of Labour and Social Development—to formulate the Association’s principles and work strategy, thereby enhancing its role and fulfilling its mission to society. His Excellency Minister Humaidan praised the Association’s efforts, noting its projects and contributions to consolidating the values of religious and humanitarian work. He affirmed the Ministry of Labour and Social Development’s support for civil‑society organisations and its readiness to overcome any obstacles they may face, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. He also pointed to ongoing efforts to strengthen the principles of community partnership between official institutions and civil‑society organisations—efforts that have produced numerous development achievements in the Kingdom of Bahrain. For their part, MP Al Asheeri and Al Kharfoush commended the Ministry’s cooperation and its ongoing efforts to develop its diverse services, particularly those related to social welfare, thereby reinforcing the role of NGOs and enhancing their performance to serve all segments of society.
