MLSD Minister discusses with Al-Zayani strengthening the stability of the labor market in various economic conditions and challenges

His Excellency Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour and Chairman of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), met today (Tuesday) with His Excellency Mr. Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, at his office. They discussed several topics related to employment in the private sector, including economic challenges and ways to find solutions under various circumstances, in a manner that supports programmes to integrate national competencies into the labour market. During the meeting, ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two ministries were examined, alongside coordinating efforts and initiatives aimed at strengthening and stabilising the labour market and providing private-sector establishments with qualified national cadres. The meeting also reviewed the esteemed Government’s efforts to maintain the stability of the Bahraini workforce through a package of financial initiatives, which have significantly contributed to sustaining the stability and growth of the labour market, positively impacting economic stability and growth in the Kingdom of Bahrain. In this context, Humaidan noted the role played by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism in supporting private‑sector establishments, encouraging employers and enabling this vital sector to drive the national economy to be the main generator of employment opportunities, through building an encouraging and stimulating work environment for employers and maintaining the appropriate flexibility to attract foreign investments that provide attractive employment for citizens. He added: “I look forward to implementing further initiatives between the two ministries that will contribute to achieving the Government’s visions and strategies in the economic and development fields.” For his part, the Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism affirmed that the Bahraini labour market is characterised by diversity, inclusiveness, and innovation in employment creation, which enhances the sustainability of employment dynamics in various economic circumstances and challenges. He noted the qualified national competencies and the high-quality training that aligns with labour-market developments, contributing to the seamless integration of citizens into private-sector establishments.
