His Excellency Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, Minister of Legal Affairs and Acting Minister of Labour, affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain is making steady progress towards achieving further economic diversification, consolidating the distinguished reputation of the Kingdom’s business environment as an investment-friendly environment, opening new horizons for promising projects, and continuing to develop education systems and link them to the needs of the labour market, leading to an advanced knowledge economy that enhances innovation and entrepreneurship and creates more quality employment opportunities for citizens. This came in the speech of the Kingdom of Bahrain delivered by His Excellency the Minister of Legal Affairs and Acting Minister of Labour, before the 51st session of the Arab Labour Conference held in the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt from 19 to 26 April 2025. Minister Khalaf touched upon the Kingdom of Bahrain’s launch of the National Labour Market Plan for the years (2023–2026), which outlines the strategy and general policy regarding the employment of national human resources over the next four years, noting that this strategy aims to develop the labour market and ensure its growth and stability. He also pointed to the initiatives implemented in this regard, including the launch of projects that established an infrastructure and an integrated system to support employment and training. Khalaf stressed that the Kingdom of Bahrain has established policies that contribute to creating an economic environment that promotes entrepreneurship and encourages young people to engage in self-employment and innovation. It has also provided various types of financial support, advisory services, and training programmes to establish numerous small and medium enterprises, which has contributed to providing more employment opportunities. His Excellency Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, Minister of Legal Affairs and Acting Minister of Labour, emphasised the role of the Arab Labour Organisation in enhancing joint cooperation between the three production parties in Arab countries, calling on the organisation to intensify these efforts and work to study all projects and initiatives of member states and to transfer pioneering and successful experiences among Arab countries in the areas of organising labour markets and developing human resources, to achieve comprehensive Arab economic integration. His Excellency the Minister of Legal Affairs and Acting Minister of Labour held a number of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of his participation in the Arab Labour Conference, with Their Excellencies and Highnesses the heads of the participating delegations and representatives of regional organisations and institutions.
