His Excellency Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, Minister of Legal Affairs and Acting Minister of Labour, headed the delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain participating in the 51st session of the Arab Labour Conference held in the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, which commenced its work today, Saturday. The delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain included, in addition to the Ministry of Labour, representatives of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions, and the Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation. The current conference agenda covers several topics, most notably developing the reality of entrepreneurship, discussing the Arab Entrepreneurship Strategy Initiative, and reviewing the report of the Director-General of the Arab Labour Organisation, which focuses on the importance of economic diversification in Arab countries to keep pace with global economic changes and reduce dependence on natural resources, to achieve sustainable development and enhance economic and social stability. On this occasion, His Excellency Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, Minister of Legal Affairs and Acting Minister of Labour, emphasised the importance of conferences as a unifying platform for discussing challenges and opportunities and exchanging expertise and best practices in various fields. He noted the role of the Arab Labour Organisation in promoting joint action paths that support development processes and contribute to achieving the desired goals. His Excellency the Minister explained that the Kingdom of Bahrain is proceeding with its plans to increase economic diversification to ensure sustainable growth, create promising opportunities for citizens, and develop the business environment by enacting regulations and legislation that encourage investment and launching initiatives aimed at sustaining economic growth in the country. The work of the 51st session of the Arab Labour Conference, which will be held in the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt from 19 to 26 April 2025.
