MLSD Minister: Supporting NGOs’ Initiatives to Advance Families & Individuals Professionally & Economically

His Excellency the Minister of Labour and Social Development, Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, met in his office today, Tuesday, with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Muharraq Charity Society, Mr. Salah Mohammed Bu Hassan, in the presence of several members of the Society’s Board. During the meeting, Mr. Bu Hassan outlined the Society’s principal objectives and the latest progress of its projects, which focus on assisting needy families, implementing humanitarian initiatives and promoting the principles of social solidarity. The discussion also covered avenues of co‑operation and coordination between the Muharraq Charity Society and the Ministry of Labour and Social Development in development and social spheres, including the facilities and services the Ministry provides to Civil Society Associations. Proposals were considered to enhance these services and address any challenges the Society may face, in line with applicable national laws and regulations. The Board of Directors of the Muharraq Charity Society praised the Ministry’s role in elevating the performance and mission of NGOs and in strengthening the contribution of charitable societies to development initiatives that foster charitable and humanitarian values while improving the professional and economic conditions of families and individuals.
