His Excellency the Minister of Labour and Social Development, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, met in his office with His Excellency MP Abdullah Khalifa Al‑Thawadi and His Excellency MP Bassem Salman Al Maliki. Humaidan reviewed the latest developments in National Employment Programme 2.0, outlining initiatives and policies that enhance the efficiency and sustainability of services while investing in national talent and developing it professionally. He explained that these measures enhance training quality and align outcomes with current and future labour‑market requirements, making Bahrainis the preferred choice for employment. The Minister highlighted programme benefits that accelerate recruitment by increasing incentives for employers and jobseekers, notably wage support for citizens working in the private sector and expanded assistance for the unemployed through the Unemployment Fund. He stressed the commitment of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, to provide comprehensive basic and professional training that equips national human resources to contribute effectively to development and integrate into productive sectors. Humaidan affirmed the Ministry’s dedication to improving the training system at private centres and institutes, ensuring that programmes and curricula meet employers’ technical and professional skill needs across diverse sectors. He called for concerted efforts among all stakeholders to ensure the programme’s success and maintain safe unemployment levels. The two MPs expressed their support for national efforts to develop Bahraini competencies, channel youth energy, and prepare them professionally for roles in various productive sectors—especially non-traditional specialisations requiring skills attuned to labour market developments. They also emphasised the importance of strengthening national legislation related to the Ministry’s remit to enhance the quality of its development services to citizens.
