MLSD Minister Invits Citizens to Interact with Ministry's Electronically Facilitated Services
06-02-2021

His Excellency the Minister of Labour and Social Development, Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, confirmed that the Ministry will implement a 70 per cent work‑from‑home policy from Sunday, 7 February 2021, until 20 February 2021 across all sectors—whether at the main Ministry building or branch centres in every governorate of the Kingdom of Bahrain. This measure follows the decisions issued on the recommendations of the National Medical Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus (COVID‑19), which call for government entities to allow up to 70 per cent of employees to work remotely for two weeks. Humaidan stated that officials in each sector have been directed to follow the established procedures and urged citizens to continue using the Ministry’s electronic services available via the official website (www.mlsd.gov.bh). He added that the Ministry remains ready to assist anyone experiencing difficulties with online transactions in order to obtain labour‑ and social‑related services. The Minister explained that most Ministry services are now provided electronically or remotely in a straightforward manner. Technical enhancements enable beneficiaries to access services quickly without the need to visit the Ministry or service centres. Key areas delivered online include citizen employment and training in the private sector, unemployment‑insurance services, labour consultations, social assistance, support for NGOs, care services, day clubs, and assistance for senior citizens and People of Determination. These remote offerings align with precautionary measures to curb the spread of COVID-19 and with Resolution No. 2 of 2021 concerning the work-from-home policy for government employees. To ensure everyone’s safety during these exceptional circumstances and to obtain assistance or make inquiries about any Ministry service, the public may call the toll‑free hotline 80008001. They may also contact department numbers listed on the Ministry’s website and follow real‑time updates on the Ministry’s social media platforms: mlsdbahrain.
