MLSD Minister Reviews with MP AlBahrani Latest Developments of Employment Programs & Social Welfare Services

His Excellency the Minister of Labour and Social Development, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, today received the Chairman of the Financial and Economic Committee of the Council of Representatives, Mr. Mahmood Makki Al-Bahrani, at the Ministry. The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration between the executive and legislative branches to advance the public interest, meet citizens’ aspirations and improve living standards across the Kingdom of Bahrain. Humaidan briefed Al-Bahrani on the latest progress of Ministry programmes—chief among them the National Employment Programme 2.0 executive plan and complementary initiatives designed to integrate jobseekers into private‑sector establishments. He also detailed ongoing efforts to channel government support to the most needy families, underscoring the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening social‑welfare services. The Minister expressed his eagerness to work with lawmakers on updating national legislation within the Ministry’s remit, thereby supporting the Kingdom’s broader development agenda. Commending the Ministry’s proactive approach, Mr. Al-Bahrani praised its user‑friendly delivery of development services, particularly initiatives that generate suitable employment for citizens and safeguard their job stability. He emphasised the need for sustained executive‑legislative cooperation—especially in light of current economic challenges linked to exceptional health conditions—to maintain productivity in private‑sector enterprises and ensure comprehensive support for all segments of society.
