MLSD Minister Planning with the CEO of (BAS) the Process to Employ National Labour

His Excellency Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour and Social Development, met in his office at the Ministry with Eng. Mohammed Khalil Ahmed, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Airport Services Company (BAS), accompanied by Mr. Salman Saleh Al Mahmeed, former Chairman of the Company. During the meeting, the Company’s plans for employing national workers were reviewed, as well as its training and development programmes for the Company’s national workforce, which will contribute to enhancing productivity and competitiveness. The meeting also examined National Employment Programme 2.0 and the role of national companies and institutions in ensuring the success of such initiatives aimed at integrating citizens into the labour market. In this context, Humaidan stressed that national human capital is the ideal investment for development, owing to Bahrainis’ professional discipline and keenness to contribute to the successive achievements of the organisations in which they work. He praised BAS’s plans to employ more citizens across its various departments and divisions, and noted the efforts made by the former CEO to raise the Company’s performance. He also wished the new CEO success in continuing the Company’s distinguished journey in serving the national economy. For his part, the Company’s CEO, Eng. Mohammed Khalil Ahmed valued the Minister’s confidence in BAS, emphasising that the policy of employing national workers is ongoing. He praised, in this context, the training programmes provided by the Ministry of Labour and Social Development in coordination with the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), which equip the labour market with skilled talent capable of steering production across diverse economic sectors.
