Humaidan praised the content of the book, and stressed that the Bahraini heritage is rich in traditional proverbs, which expresses a cultural experience that retrenched them into wisdom and lessons-learned. The minister also noted the efforts the author has made to transform these proverbs into artistic animated templates to benefit children and young people in preserving the oral heritage

AFS Employment Plans for Bahrainis .. Humaidan : The growth of the financial sector in Bahrain provides quality job opportunities

H.E. Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour, affirmed the government's support for the financial services sector to attract more investment opportunities to strengthen the Kingdom of Bahrain's position as a regional hub for this sector. His Excellency pointed out that the Ministry of Labour gives priority to employing nationals in specialised sectors, while the financial sector is at the forefront of it by updating the professional training system that keeps pace with technological developments. The minister added that the growth of non-banking financial companies in the Kingdom constitutes an important tributary in supporting the national economy and providing quality investment opportunities that generate jobs. This came in a statement by H.E. the Minister of Labour during his visit to the Arab Financial Services Company (AFS), where he met with Mr. Samer Suleiman, CEO of the company and a number of officials of the company. His Excellency was briefed on the company's recruitment plans, as 64 Bahrainis were employed during the years 2021-2022 out of a total number of 148 Bahrainis in the company, which showed that the percentage of Bahrainisation in the company exceeded 66%. The minister was also introduced to the company's plan to train job seekers and university students, a strategic move it carries out periodically at the facility. Humaidan met with a number of Bahraini employees, including many who were promoted to senior management positions, through which they presented their success stories in the company that qualified them for career advancement. His Excellency praised these stories, which are a model to be followed, calling on employees to continue their efforts in self-development and work hard and discipline to improve their career productivity. The minister also noted the level of job stability of national workers in light of the encouraging work environment, expressing his pride in the Bahraini cadres working in the financial sector. In this context, Humaidan expressed his thanks and appreciation to AFS for adopting the national element and considering it one of the priorities of its future employment plans. He also pointed out that the interest that the companies and institutions operating in the private sector give to employ nationals comes in light of the employers' conviction that national workforce is worthy and able to manage the movement of production in various productive sectors, in sync with the support provided by the government to private enterprises that prioritise employment of Bahrainis, and laws and facilities that stimulate production. Moreover, he explained that the ministry aims to prepare job seekers who are equipped with the necessary professional training skills to be the first choice for recruitment in various sectors, especially the financial sector. For his part, the CEO of AFS expressed his thanks to the Minister of Labour for this visit, stressing that it will be an important motivation for the company to continue its efforts in employing citizens. He also pointed out that the company's success in attracting national human resources comes with the assistance of the Ministry of Labour in providing trained cadres in this sector, in addition to the availability of the appropriate environment, along with professional vocational training, and the government's support for national labour, which contributed to empowering Bahrainis in various administrative and technical jobs in the company. Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour and Chairman of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) headed a Bahraini delegation that included Ms. Nouf Abdulrahman Jamsheer, CEO of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), and a number of ministry’s officials, visited the United Arab Emirates, in light of the activation of the memorandum of understanding signed between the two brotherly countries in the field of labour and human resources development. HE the Minister held a meeting with his Emirati counterpart, Dr. Abdulrahman Abdul Manan Al Awar, UAE Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, in the presence of a number of senior Emirati officials. During this meeting, they discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries, as the visiting delegation was briefed on the policies applied in the UAE towards improving the labour market and developing human resources, together with the initiatives related to the unemployment insurance system, the wage protection system and ways to enhance supervision in the labour market. The Bahraini delegation was also briefed on the UAE experience in the field of developing occupational standards and adopting them at the national level. On the occasion of his visit to the United Arab Emirates, Humaidan praised the depth of Bahraini-Emirati relations, and the development they are witnessing under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, stressing the importance of exchanging information and strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of labour and the development and rehabilitation of human resources for the benefit of citizens in both countries. In this context, His Excellency touched on the initiatives implemented by the Kingdom of Bahrain in terms of accelerating the pace of recruitment, rehabilitating and integrating nationals into the private sector through incentives and measures that enhance the priority of Bahrainis in employment, and mechanisms for implementing unemployment insurance. Humaidan then wished for more cooperation and coordination between the two brotherly countries when they participate in various regional and international events. For his part, Al Awar praised Bahrain's pioneering experience in organising and developing the labour market. His Excellency also noted the pioneering programs implemented by the Kingdom in the fields of employment and supporting human resources through motivational and rehabilitation policies to ensure that the Bahrainis get preference in employment, as well as enhance job stability. Minister of Labour: Continue to support establishments that attract national labour

Employment contracts for 28 Bahrainis registered in the job seeker’s lists were signed today with Haj Hassan Group in the presence of H. E. Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour, as part of the employment initiative within the economic recovery plan, which enhances joint cooperation between the Ministry of Labour and the private sector to employ Bahraini nationals in various productive sectors. This initiative comes within the first phase of the company's plan for the current year, to raise its Bahrainisation rates through a plan to employ 45 citizens in specialised jobs and technology during the year 2023, and work on training and developing them professionally to provide them with the necessary skills. It is worth noting that the plan in its second phase will focus on employing nationals in specialized and administrative jobs. During his meeting with the citizens who signed the employment contracts, Humaidan expressed his pride in the performance of the national forces in private sector and their effective contribution to providing high-quality productivity, which helps a lot in raising and continuing development in the Kingdom. The minister also pointed out the importance of perseverance and commitment to the values of work and job stability, which are considered necessary for empowering career progression. His Excellency then expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Haji Hassan Group of Companies for its employment of Bahrainis and for achieving positive rates in the Bahrainization of jobs. Furthermore, he emphasized the commitment of the government to continue its support to the programs of national companies, which focus on attracting national cadres and qualifying them professionally and functionally, in order to accentuate the employment initiatives within the economic recovery plan and make citizens the first choice in the labour market. For his part, Mr. Maitham Omran, Director of Human Resources at Haji Hassan, confirmed that the group is keen to benefit from Bahraini human resources in its various branches. Executive, legislative branches hold third joint meeting

Manama, Jan.5 (BNA): The executive and legislative branches have today reached a consensus on the amendments priorities of the government program. This came during the third joint meeting which brought together the Parliamentary Committee in charge of studying the Government Programme and the government team. Council of Representatives Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam and Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa co-chaired the session. LMRA supports market development initiatives and strengthens partnership with the private sector

Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, underlined the importance of continuing efforts towards developing mechanisms and procedures that contribute to enhancing the labour market environment. This is in accordance with a system that preserves the rights of all parties, ensures its stability and competitiveness, and responds to the changing market requirements, in a way that preserves the Kingdom of Bahrain's leadership and attractiveness for investment and capital. This came as part of his chairmanship of the seventh meeting of the fourth session of the Board of Directors of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, via remote video conference, in the presence of members of the board and H.E. Mrs. Noof Abdulrahman Jamsheer, CEO of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority. During the meeting, Humaidan expressed the support of the board for the efforts of the executive management in supporting the enhancement and development of the labour market environment, which is reflected in the security and stability of society. Humaidan praised the results of intensifying visits and inspection campaigns carried out by the LMRA, in coordination with the relevant government agencies, foremost of which is, the Ministry of Interior in its various agencies. These campaigns were initiated in order to consolidate necessary measures to tighten dealing with violators aimed to achieve the government's objectives to address irregular employment, in parallel with the implementation of awareness campaigns for workers on the laws and regulations in force in the Kingdom of Bahrain. For her part, Her Excellency Mrs. Noof Abdulrahman Jamsheer, CEO of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, presented a report on the efforts and programs of the Authority and the results that have been achieved and are being implemented, with the aim of achieving the highest levels of service provided to citizens and residents. One of the most prominent of these initiatives is the Wages Protection System, which verifies the payment of all wages of Bahraini and expatriate workers electronically, which helps enhance transparency, the importance of monitoring, as well as reducing labour disputes. She also pointed out that work is underway to develop the Wages Protection System and link it to the Expatriate Labour Management System (EMS). The Chief Executive Officer of the LMRA reviewed the results of the implementation of the employment registration system, which aims to eliminate the negative social and economic impacts of irregular employment in the labour market according to a close partnership mechanism with the private sector. Jamsheer also presented an insight on the importance of ensuring the role of registration centers on the legal status of workers wishing to obtain a permit and referring their applications to the authority, in addition to verifying the availability of professional qualifications or training to obtain the necessary certificates to practice the required profession. At the same time, she pointed out the relevance of the worker's card, which contains all the information and data related to the worker and his/her qualifications, which on the one hand will help the employer to identify the capabilities of the worker and verify his/her legal status. Jamsheer also highly appreciated the success of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority in passing the external audit of the (ISO 9001-2015 Certificate in the Management of Quality Systems) in all its sectors, while achieving all the requirements of the certificate by applying the actual and accurate quality principles according to international standards. Similarily, the members of the Board of Directors of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority expressed their support and appreciation for the efforts made by the Executive Management of the Authority, in implementing projects and programs that aim to facilitate procedures for employers and customers and contribute to meeting the needs of the labour market and preserving the rights of its parties. They also called for continuing the daily inspection campaigns and visits, together with strengthening efforts to maintain the work environment and productivity.

HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa deputised H.E. Minister of Labour Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan to attend the 37th annual ceremony honoring hardworking and outstanding workers and distinguished establishments in the private sector, held under the patronage of HM the King, on Wednesday at the Gulf Hotel. Among the attendees were a number of ministers, members of the Shura and Representatives Councils and other officials. The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Sameer Abdulla Nass, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Abdulqader Abdulkareem Al-Shehabi, the Secretary-General of the General Federation of Workers Trade Unions (GFWTU). In a speech at the beginning of the ceremony, HE the Minister of Labour extended his sincerest congratulations to HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and to HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister and all the people of Bahrain on the joyful occasion of the Kingdom’s celebrations of its national day and His Majesty’s accession to the throne. In addition to commemorating the establishment of the modern Bahraini state during the era of the founder Ahmed Al-Fateh as an Arab and Muslim state in 1783 AD. HE the Minister of Labour also conveyed the greetings of HM the King and the first supporter of Bahrain's workers, expressing His Majesty's permanent pride in the national workforce, which was and still is the main engine of comprehensive development in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Humaidan asserted that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the gracious leadership of HM the King, and the prudent approach of the government headed by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has succeeded in addressing the repercussions of the global spread of the Corona pandemic (Covid-19) on various aspects of life with distinction. He also pointed to the benefit gained from the existing cooperation between the three production parties, who established the principles of social dialogue and contributed to strengthening the building of community partnership that helped increase employment rates, both quantitatively and qualitatively. His Excellency continued by saying that this is a challenge that requires maintaining the pace of employment and absorbing the influx of fresh graduates into the labour market. The minister concluded his speech stating that the Kingdom of Bahrain is working according to an integrated system to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development in various fields for the benefit of the country and its citizens. Accordingly, all efforts are aimed at attracting job-generating investments and granting facilities to citizens to be productive entrepreneurs who contribute to the development process. Humaidan also focused on the need to motivate Bahraini youth to adopt their own businesses by supporting small and micro enterprises. Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), received on Tuesday, the Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Bahrain, H.E. Pradeepa Saram, in his office at the ministry, to mark the end of the Ambassador’s service in the Kingdom. On this occasion, HE the Minister of Labour expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by Ambassador Pradeepa Saram and her role in enhancing joint cooperation between the two friendly countries, as well as raising collaborative levels in all fields, foremost of which is, labour affairs. He also wished her continued success in her future assignments. For her part, H.E. Saram expressed her pride in working as her country's ambassador to Bahrain, praising the support and cooperation she received throughout her work in the Kingdom from all sides, which contributed to the success of her diplomatic mission. The book deals with the principle of separation of the three powers in the Kingdom of Bahrain, its concept and applications, the importance of legislative delegation and its constitutionality. It also touches on the types of delegated regulations and their comparison with democratic systems in Europe Humaidan expressed his admiration and appreciation for the efforts made by Al Hammadi to publish this valuable book and for the rich legislative contents it contained and its beneficial impact on the public interest.

H.E. Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour, paid a visit to Lulu Hypermarket Bahrain, one of the companies contributing to the success of the employment initiative, which comes within the implementation of the objectives of the National Labour Market Plan (2021-2023) in creating promising job opportunities and making the citizen the first choice in the labor market. This initiative aims to employ 20,000 Bahrainis and train 10,000 Bahrainis annually until 2024 as part of the economic recovery plan. This visit is one of His Excellency's field trips to companies and institutions that support the ministry's initiatives and programs in the field of employing national cadres. The minister was accompanied by a number of ministry officials. His Excellency the Minister of Labour met with Mr. Juzer T Rupawala, Regional Director of Lulu Hypermarket Group, and a number of the company's employees, where he was briefed on the company's strategy and efforts in attracting, developing Bahraini capabilities professionally and advancing their careers, which reached 30% of Bahrainis working in the group. At present, the company has 1000 Bahrainis in various administrative, technical, marketing and customer services departments. Thanks to the joint cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, the Lulu Hypermarket Group was able to employ 750 Bahrainis during the years 2021-2022. Moreover, the company is also using part-time employment by hiring 15 Bahrainis of persons with determination. In a statement on this occasion, H.E. the Minister of Labour expressed his happiness to make this visit to Lulu Hypermark. Then he thanked the company's management for the high rates of employment of national labour and reliance on them in managing the production movement. Also, he pointed to the efforts taken by the company in developing Bahraini workers professionally and working on their career progression to achieve their career ambitions in a way that enhances the stability of employment. After that Humaidan praised the employees and workers who joined the private sector and integrated into the labour market in order to contribute to the comprehensive development process witnessed by the Kingdom of Bahrain. Humaidan highlighted the importance of revealing the success stories of employers and workers who through their dedication to their work have demonstrated the ability of Bahraini youth to manage production and occupy many managerial and supervisory positions. He also pointed to the role played by the private sector in supporting the employment programs implemented by the Ministry of Labour, stressing the importance of continuing to launch initiatives aimed at increasing the employment of nationals and granting privileges to establishments that are committed to employing national workers, supporting their wages and providing them with free training in specialised professional courses. For his part, Mr. Juzer T Rupawala, the Regional Director of Lulu Hypermarket Group, stressed that the support provided by the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the private sector, not to mention the flexible facilities for enterprises have contributed to their growth and helped them attract more national competencies. He then emphasised the need for the government to continue to develop supportive initiatives and strategies, which are reflected in the core responsibilities of private sector institutions towards the Kingdom of Bahrain and that served this sector with many encouraging and stimulating advantages. H.E. Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour, has pointed that Bahraini women have clearly proven their achievements and successes in all fields and productive sectors making them deserve the support and attention they continually receive from all official and civil authorities in the Kingdom of Bahrain. At the forefront of this attention is the high thoughtfulness of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the prudence of the government headed by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the pivotal role in supporting the advancement of Bahraini women through the Supreme Council for Women headed by HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women. This came in a speech delivered by HE the Minister of Labour during his patronage and opening today, Wednesday, the Seventh Conference for Working Women, organized by the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions, from 21 to 22 December, under the title "The Future of Working Women in the Health Sector", at the Diplomat Hotel. He pointed out that there are many initiatives implemented by the Ministry of Labour in cooperation with the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) by providing many incentives to increase the pace of employment of Bahraini women in various vital and attractive sectors in line with the objectives of the economic recovery plan, pointing to the importance of creating promising job opportunities and making the citizen the first choice in the labor market. After that, the minister drew attention to the project that supports the wages of female citizens working in the private sector who work in part-time and remote work systems, well suited with their social and family status. Humaidan went on to explain that this project allows working women to fully benefit from all the privileges granted to the national workforce within the regular labour system. Humaidan also explained that Bahraini women accounted for 40.3% of the total number of employees in the private sector until last October. The private health sector has also witnessed a growth in women's employment making up to 73% of the total recruitment operations carried out in the sector. In addition, the female workers represent 62% of the total Bahraini workers in the health sector, according to data obtained from mid-2022. For his part, Mr. Abdul Qadir Abdul Karim Al Shehabi, Secretary General of the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions, stressed the need to continue supporting women in the labour market and union work. He pointed out the importance of what the education and health sectors represented, as there were many working women in those sectors who could absorb the largest percentage of qualifications in the labour market. Moreover, he focused attention on the great role played by Bahraini women in the kindergarten sector and the existence of possibilities and opportunities to accommodate more female job seekers to develop this sector, as it is an important educational pillar. The Secretary-General of the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions praised the distinguished efforts made by the medical sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain during the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, through the wonderful models of giving and sacrifice made by medical staff, especially female cadres, in the public and private sectors. Minister of Labour salutes NSH for targeting young Bahrainis and prepping them professionally

As part of a series of field tours by H.E. Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, the Minister of Labour, to establishments operating in the private sector to contribute to the success of employment initiatives within the economic recovery plan. Among these tours, the minister paid a visit to Nasser Saeed Al Hajri Corp (NSH), which is responsible for the refinery development project at the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco), where he met with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company, Dr. Ravi Pillai. At the said visit, the minister was accompanied by a number of officials in the ministry. During the visit, Humaidan was briefed on the company's policies in the field of training and employing job seekers. Over the course of this year, the company employed 443 Bahrainis, as part of the second edition of the National Employment Program. Furthermore, the company focuses on the importance of developing the efficiency of the national workforce in various departments and sections and aims to raise the level of performance of these cadres professionally to enable them to move up the career ladder to reach advanced positions. Humaidan expressed his appreciation for the security and safety measures implemented by the company to protect workers in work sites, through which it was able to achieve 50 million working hours without accidents, or occupational injuries in 2022. His Excellency also met with a number of Bahrainis working at NSH and has been keen to listen to their success stories and to every effort they exerted and which, helped them rise up the career ladder. The minister has been impressed by both their resolution and devotion to be part of building and developing their country. After that, Humaidan expressed his happiness for what he noticed by the sincerity of their dedication towards the company for everything it provided to them whether through training, or rehabilitation in order to upgrade their professional competency. In this context, Humaidan praised the company's plans to recruit and train more Bahrainis, and its keenness to provide an attractive and productive work environment, pointing to the joint cooperation between the company and the ministry in employment projects. He also emphasised on the importance of participating and encouraging employers to attract more job seekers, based on the brilliant Bahraini models that have progressed in their career paths thanks to their perseverance and job sincerity, which is a key criterion in the advancement of enterprises. Accordingly, the minister called on all employers to benefit from the successful experiences of companies that relied on the national element and achieved remarkable successes in their stability, growth and increased productivity. Similarily, H.E. the Minister of Labour praised the occupational safety and health plans at work sites pursued by the company, stressing that these applied measures contribute to reducing the risks of work accidents and occupational diseases. Especially, since securing a healthy work environment is one of the most important pillars for the growth of establishments and reflects Bahrain's interest in applying the principles and requirements of occupational safety in order to protect workers. For his part, Dr. Ravi Pillai praised the facilities provided by the Ministry of Labour to various establishments operating in the private sector. Ravi stressed the success of the company's experience in investing in Bahraini workforce, due to its perseverance, discipline and sincerity in performing its work.
