MLSD Minister sponsors the Ceremony of the Tree of Life Social Charity Association

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Labour and Social Development, Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, the Tree of Life Social Charity Society organised the second edition of its Humanity and Charity Work Award ceremony yesterday evening, Monday. The ceremony was attended by the Society’s Chairman, Mr Khalil Al Dailami, as well as a number of MPs, representatives from relevant civil society organisations, active social figures, and companies that support charitable work. 25 representatives of voluntary and charitable civil society organisations in the Kingdom of Bahrain were honoured. The award aims to motivate and support charitable and humanitarian institutions, individuals, and voluntary workers in the charitable and humanitarian sector in Bahraini society, who have performed distinguished work in the service of charitable work, by enhancing their efficiency and capacity for humanitarian and voluntary giving. On this occasion, His Excellency the Minister of Labour and Social Development praised the role of the Tree of Life Social Charity Society for its efforts and contributions to developing areas of development work, stressing in this context that the interest of societies in volunteer work is the title of their progress and development and a fundamental pillar in building and thriving societies to achieve their humanitarian goals. He pointed out that the civil society organisations sector has a prominent presence in society and is an essential factor in achieving sustainable development in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He noted that the voluntary sector has witnessed progress and a remarkable increase in civil society organisations and the number of volunteers, through the creation and development of an integrated system for civil voluntary work, including the legal and legislative frameworks of the NGO that works to protect it, which has contributed to strengthening and activating community participation and the integration of the social system that interacts with all local and global variables, which confirms the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain and its continuous support for all sectors, including the civil, voluntary and charitable sectors. In a speech delivered on behalf of the Tree of Life Social Charity Society, Mr Musab Al Shaikh said that social work pioneers have spared no effort in devoting their time, energy and money to the advancement of society. He pointed out that charitable and volunteer work is a path to self‑satisfaction, emphasising that the Society's award is an attempt to promote, honour and motivate charitable work. He noted that the Society is continuing to develop and advance the award through community partnerships that promote charitable and volunteer work in Bahrain. In his speech on behalf of the honourees, Dr Mansour Al Jamri emphasised the importance of solidarity between individuals and society in the social care system, emphasising that the Kingdom of Bahrain is a country that embodies the characteristics of advanced societies through the cooperation and solidarity of all its members. He noted that Bahrain has established an integrated system to achieve Sustainable Development Goals, and has worked to develop an Arab action plan to implement the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, based on strengthening partnerships with civil society organisations and the private sector. In this context, he praised the esteemed government’s support for development work and social care.
