MLSD Minister meets the head of the "Islamic Society" and confirms support for the efforts of NGOs in charitable work

His Excellency the Minister of Labour and Social Development, Mr Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, met today, Sunday, in his office with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Islamic Society, His Eminence Shaikh Dr Abdullatif Mahmood Al Mahmood. He was briefed on the latest developments in the Society’s charitable work programmes and its development contributions, implemented in cooperation and coordination with relevant governmental and private institutions. In this context, Humaidan praised the Society’s humanitarian and charitable efforts, and the development projects it provides to serve beneficiary groups, noting the diversity of its programmes across many segments of society. He affirmed the Ministry of Labour and Social Development’s support for civil society organisations’ programmes, by strengthening community partnerships and combining efforts between the private sector and the government sector on the one hand, and civil society organisations on the other. He also pointed to the Ministry’s continued support for all civil society organisations, in accordance with the legal provisions and procedures governing NGOs. For his part, His Eminence Shaikh Dr Abdullatif Mahmood Al Mahmood expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Ministry of Labour and Social Development for its ongoing efforts to support NGOs, particularly with regard to legal consultations and facilitating their tasks and fulfilment of their charitable mission.
