MLSD Minister discusses with the Bahraini Association for Private Training Institutes the development of areas of the training sector

His Excellency the Minister of Labour and Social Development, Mr Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, met at the Ministry’s headquarters with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Society of the Private Training Institutes (BSPTI), Mr Nawaf Mohammed Al‑Jishi, in the presence of members of the Society’s Board and a number of Ministry officials. The meeting discussed ways to strengthen technical cooperation and joint coordination to develop the training sector and advance national human resources in the labour market. The activities of the Bahrain Society of Private Training Institutes were reviewed for their contribution to the growth of the training and human‑development sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The discussion also addressed the status of this vital sector and the joint national efforts to develop private training institutions so they can fulfil their assigned role in honing national capabilities and preparing them for smooth integration into the labour market. In this context, Humaidan underscored the importance of the role played by private training institutes and centres in upgrading national cadres to meet employers’ requirements. He noted the esteemed Government’s special attention to vocational training as a pathway to increase citizens’ employment across productive sectors in private‑sector establishments. He added that the partnership and technical cooperation between the Ministry and the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), alongside stakeholders in vocational training, aim to enhance training services in the Kingdom of Bahrain and build an integrated training industry that consolidates Bahrain’s position as a regional centre for training and human‑resources development. He pointed to the growth of the private training sector, with the number of licensed training centres and institutes reaching 89 by the end of last October. For his part, Mr Al‑Jishi commended the Ministry of Labour and Social Development’s support for the Society’s objectives and for private vocational training institutions. He highlighted the Ministry’s cooperation with the Society in addressing specialised and qualitative training issues, which helps overcome challenges faced by training institutes. He affirmed the Society’s full readiness to deepen cooperation with partners and harness joint national efforts to develop training fields in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
