13-01-2020
His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour and Social Development, Mr Sabah Salem Al Dosari, paid an inspection visit to the new Al Budaiya Social Centre project, where he was briefed on progress and construction stages for a facility that will deliver comprehensive services to residents of Al Budaiya and surrounding villages. This comes in implementation of the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, may God protect him, to facilitate the provision of government services to citizens within their residential areas. The Budaiya Social Centre, a substantial portion of whose construction cost is covered by Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), is designed to meet the needs of citizens in the Northern Governorate across Budaiya, Diraz, Bani Jamra, Barbar, Al Qurayyah, Saar, Maqaba, Al Markh, Jannusan, Abu Saiba, Al Maqsha, Al Shakhura, Karranah, Al Hajar and Al Qadam. The Centre will accommodate up to 550 beneficiaries daily and will offer training, rehabilitation and employment support for job seekers; a daytime social club for the elderly; a children’s and youth club; community training courses; family counselling services; and social assistance. Mr Al Dosari also visited the Jidhafs Social Centre and the project to establish a day care club for the elderly there, where he reviewed the latest stages of ongoing construction. The facility will provide all services and awareness programmes for the elderly to residents of the area. It is worth noting that the Jidhafs Social Centre currently delivers a range of social assistance, including social security, financial support, disability allowance, cash compensation for the removal of meat subsidies, and prosthetic devices for people with disabilities, in order to meet local needs and facilitate access to the Ministry of Labour and Social Development’s services.
