MLSD Minister meets the Board of Directors of Al-Orouba Club

His Excellency Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour and Social Development, received Mr. Mahmoud Al‑Qassab, Chairman of Al-Orooba Club’s Board of Directors, accompanied by several board members, following the esteemed Council of Ministers’ decision to transfer the club’s affiliation to the Ministry of Labour and Social Development. Al‑Qassab outlined the club’s objectives and forthcoming plans, noting that since its establishment in 1939, Al‑Orooba has fostered cultural, intellectual and literary pursuits, strengthened national unity and promoted community service. He emphasised the club’s determination to attract Bahraini youth to uphold this legacy, thereby supporting the Kingdom’s ongoing renaissance, construction and development. Humaidan commended Al‑Orooba Club’s more than eighty‑year record of enriching Bahrain’s cultural and social landscape and highlighted its pivotal role during the Kingdom’s first renaissance, when the club and its founding pioneers served as a beacon of national awareness. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s full support for the club’s continued cultural and community‑oriented initiatives, stressing that all activities will proceed in accordance with applicable regulations and laws and through effective community partnerships to cultivate national awareness and elevate young people’s intellectual horizons. Al‑Qassab expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Labour and Social Development for its unwavering assistance to NGOs, noting that this support enables them to fulfil their developmental and societal responsibilities. He voiced optimism about the club’s next phase and reiterated its commitment to achieving further accomplishments across all domains.
