MLSD Minister Meets with British ambassador

His Excellency Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour and Social Development, met with His Excellency Mr. Roddy Drummond, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Kingdom of Bahrain, in his office on Tuesday. They reviewed the distinguished historical relations between the two friendly countries, including strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of labour and social care, in addition to developing the work of NGOs, given the pioneering experience of both countries in humanitarian and charitable work. During the meeting, Humaidan praised the deep‑rooted friendship between the two countries and the ongoing, mutually beneficial cooperation across all sectors. He noted in this context the long‑standing British expertise and existing cooperation in the labour and social fields, as well as the benefits of leveraging the various experiences and initiatives in both countries to support all segments and groups of society in Britain and Bahrain. For his part, the British Ambassador affirmed his government’s keenness to strengthen bilateral relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting the developments witnessed by Bahrain in various fields—particularly in regulating the labour market, protecting workers’ rights, combating human trafficking in accordance with international standards, and consolidating the principles of tolerance and coexistence under the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the country's great King, may God protect and preserve him, and his esteemed government.
