His Excellency Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, Minister of Legal Affairs and Acting Minister of Labour, met with Mr. Gilbert Houngbo, Director-General of the International Labour Organization, on his official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. During the meeting, ways to enhance joint cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the International Labour Organization were discussed, as well as benefitting from the Organisation’s specialised expertise within the framework of the technical support programmes and projects it provides to member states—especially in areas related to occupational safety and health, enhancing social dialogue between the three parties of production, improving the work environment, and raising productivity levels. This contributes to supporting efforts to develop the labour market in line with international labour standards.
